  •  Of course it has nothing to do with the price it costs to get it out of the ground($1.70/barrel) because of the modern technology and business refinining practices have come a long way. They are selling it for a huge markup. I think the industry should be regulated..but I doubt it will happen...got a friend with imperial oil shares that he bought 15 yrs ago for $5...now they're over a hundred and have split several times over...he got downsized but I think he'll be allright.

  •  Hi Andrew; the peak oil discussion group? hmm...I read a book about the history of the oil industry...when OPec was formed and their students came back to the middle east and told them the west was exploiting them; they cut production a few times and sent the U.S economy into recession...the major issue with the price of oil is it's left up to the private industry to regulate...now with the world connected by by computers and everybody trading it; one little incident can make it go higher.
